Boutonniere Cost Calculator — Price Per Unit
Boutonnieres are the most commonly under-priced wedding floral item because they look tiny. But a boutonniere takes 12–18 minutes of wiring, taping, and finishing — and that labor has to land in the price.

How to price: markup multiplier guide
The wedding florist industry standard is a 2.5x–3.5x markup on wholesale stem cost. This covers your labor, design time, vessels, overhead, and profit margin. Anything lower means you're effectively running the business at a loss once labor is counted.
2.5x (Budget)
For volume work and low-design lines. Tight margin; only use when client volume justifies it.
3.0x (Standard)
The default healthy-margin wedding florist markup. Covers labor, overhead, and fair profit.
3.5x (Luxury)
For custom design, high-touch brands, and luxury clients. Reflects full-value design work.
Recipe variations by style
How the base recipe adapts for different wedding aesthetics.
Groom Upgrade
Add a single mini garden rose and a dusty miller leaf. Elevates to a distinct 'groom' piece vs identical groomsmen.
Textural Boho
Swap waxflower for 1 thistle or 1 scabiosa pod. Adds sculptural texture and works with rustic or earthy palettes.
Dried-Only
Build with dried strawflower, preserved eucalyptus, and a single dried rose. Zero refrigeration risk, can be made weeks ahead.
Matching Corsage Set
Scale up by 1.5x (3–4 focal elements, ribbon wrap, pearl pin) to create a parent corsage that visually ties in.
