Step by step
- 1
Build greenery base garland first
Start by weaving eucalyptus stems together to create a continuous foliage base the full length of the runner. Secure with floral wire every 6 inches.
- 2
Test fit on the table
Place the greenery base on the table to confirm length and drape. Adjust before adding flowers — once flowers are in, adjustments are much harder.
- 3
Add focal flower clusters along the length
Distribute garden rose clusters every 18–24 inches along the greenery base. Don't spread them evenly — cluster 3 together, skip, cluster again.
- 4
Layer secondary and filler flowers
Weave lisianthus and spray roses between the focal clusters. Work the full length of the runner.
- 5
Add water tubes to fresh stems
Attach water tubes to any stems that won't be in direct water contact during the event. This is critical for multi-hour events.
- 6
Install on the table
Place the completed runner on the table and adjust. Add candles between floral clusters for atmosphere. Mist once more before guests arrive.

Pro tips
Always use water tubes — tables are warm and stems wilt without hydration.
Cluster-spacing > even distribution. Clusters look 'abundant', even spacing looks 'scattered'.
A 10-foot runner uses ~60 total stems — budget accordingly.
Common mistakes to avoid
No water tubes — runners wilt halfway through the reception.
Building the whole runner in one stiff piece — it should have some drape.
Not test-fitting before adding flowers.
