How to price: markup multiplier guide
The wedding florist industry standard is a 2.5x–3.5x markup on wholesale stem cost. This covers your labor, design time, vessels, overhead, and profit margin. Anything lower means you're effectively running the business at a loss once labor is counted.
2.5x (Budget)
For volume work and low-design lines. Tight margin; only use when client volume justifies it.
3.0x (Standard)
The default healthy-margin wedding florist markup. Covers labor, overhead, and fair profit.
3.5x (Luxury)
For custom design, high-touch brands, and luxury clients. Reflects full-value design work.
Recipe variations by style
How the base recipe adapts for different wedding aesthetics.
Drape + Floral Accent
Chiffon or velvet drape with one concentrated floral cluster at upper corner. Uses ~30% of the full recipe.
Circular Moon Backdrop
Adapt recipe for a 6ft circular frame with asymmetric floral coverage. Uses ~60% of the recipe.
Full Floral Wall
Use the full recipe plus 150 additional carnations for density. This merges into the flower wall tier.
Pampas + Dried Boho
Replace fresh focal flowers with 20 pampas plumes and 15 bleached ruscus stems. Zero refrigeration, very light install.
